Did
you know that Tim Horton once lived in this part of
Scarborough?
In the 50's
Tim and his new wife joined the thousands of other families in an
exodus to the "sticks", a popular nickname of the day for
Scarborough.
He lived on
Warden
Avenue - then a country lane - in the
first house on the west side, south of Ellesmere, just across from
today's Costco.
At an Executive Committee meeting
last year, I asked a representative of Heritage Toronto, which
places plaques on buildings of historical importance, if Tim's house
could be reviewed for a plaque.
The
media ran with the story and, today, Toronto Heritage is researching
my request.
