Leacock Community
 


Its boundaries are: Finch Avenue to Sheppard Avenue; Warden Avenue to Birchmount Road.

Central feature of the community is the Leacock Community Centre, located on Birchmount Road. Leacock community was named to recognize the contributions of Canadian humourist Stephen Leacock after whom the local Collegiate Institute was named. The West Highland Creek tributary splits the community into three natural areas.

character: it is typical like of most the other communities in Scarborough, a mix of some detached homes, townhouses and high rise apartment buildings, mostly rental.

The Schools in this community are: St. Aidan, Timothy Eaton B.T.I., Timberbank Jr. Public School, John Buchan Sr Public School, Stephen Leacock C.I. and Holy Spirit Catholic School

The parks in this community are: Timberbank Park and Stephen Leacock Park

The churches in this community are: St. Aidan Catholic Church, Bridlewood Presbyterian, Chinese Gospel Church Scarborough,Wesley Chapel Free Methodist and Holy Spirit Roman Catholic

The population of the Leacock community is 10,940.
