The Inglewood Heights Community

It’s boundaries are the 401 to Sheppard, and Birchmount to the West Highland Creek and the railway tracks east of
Kennedy Road .

It’s largely a well-kept bungalow community in the interior but, unlike the other communities south of Sheppard, it has sections characterized by small houses on large lots. As a result, we’re beginning to see people buying the lot rather than house, taking down the house and building on a grander scale. For some residents it’s a worrying trend but, for others, it signals the attractiveness of the area for home buyers and rising property values.

A community within this community is being built by Tridel behind the Delta Hotel. When construction is completed a few years from now, there will be a compact neighbourhood comprised of – apartment buildings and – townhouses.

I renamed the street leading into the site,
VILLAGE GREEN SQUARE (replacing Sufferance), and gave the name WHITESIDE (after the family that first farmed the area) to its park.
